
Meet us every Tuesday at 7 PM!
Students in this DeCal take on the role of scientific journalists. Paired with an editor, they choose their own topics and write a short report and a feature piece, with the chance to be published in the Berkeley Medical Journal.
Throughout the semester, students will engage in workshops, peer reviews, and editorial meetings designed to strengthen their scientific communication skills. In addition to guided writing support, students will complete short assignments to deepen their understanding of science journalism, conduct an interview with a research expert, and have the opportunity to interact with an industry professional at our semesterly guest lecture. The course culminates in a final presentation of each student’s feature article.
